A little taste...

Last week I mentioned that I'm working on a new book set in a family bakery. And I promised you a little taste.

Well, maybe it's more of a tease? I'm keeping the major plot details under wraps for now. What I can tell you is that it has a Latina heroine (of course) and Latino hero. They share a past and there's more than a few obstacles to their HEA. Vague, I know. But I'm hoping to share more over the next few months.

Until then, here's a very brief excerpt from my untitled WIP:

At first she only saw a black L.A. Dodgers baseball cap entering the bakery. It cast a shadow over a squared jaw covered with dark stubble. Broad shoulders and flat, hard abs were emphasized by a plain, white T-shirt. Her eyes dropped to form-fitting, faded blue jeans with an unmistakable bulge in the center. Amara inhaled a sharp breath and coughed.
“Can I help you?” she managed to sputter out after a few seconds.
The mystery man took off his baseball cap and walked up to the counter. “I sure hope so,” he said in a voice as smooth as gravy. “I’m looking for Rick Robles.”
Familiar brown eyes stared into hers. Even after ten years, she recognized those lush, thick eyelashes in an instant.
Eric.

Is it just enough to make you curious? I'm hoping it is!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a great week!

Mas, por favor! Looks like it's shaping up to be a red hot reunion. Well, except for the LA Dodgers cap...LOL
