News, Chisme & Chit Chat

… Last week a new erotic line made its sexy debut with the release of some sizzling new stories. According to its Web site, Hot Ink Press is the literotic imprint of Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. Hot Ink promises to “publish erotic short stories with words that melt pages.”
New releases include erotic paranormal anthology"Bella Morte" edited by Rue Volley and stories by Katherine S. Knight, Harley De Luca, Josephine Ballowe, Riley Steel and the renowned Louisa Bacio. I’ve already devoured Bacio’s “Bed of the Dead” and I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick and sexy read!

…So I’m working on revises to another WIP. Besides reworking the plot (based on feedback from a different editor), I’m also upping the heat level. As I edit and rewrite, I’ve noticed I’m getting more “comfortable” with writing sex scenes. It’s definitely a challenge to write something that has to be so choreographed and technical (you need to make sure body parts don’t do things on their own!), while at the same time keeping it sensual and romantic. It helps that I’ve been reading some HOT books lately!
However, there are still some phrases that make me stumble on the keyboard – but they have nothing to do with sex. Wanna know a secret? My fingers still hesitate when I type swear words that involve God or Jesus. I’ll pause for a second, type it and then delete it. Then I’ll tell myself I’m being silly and type it again quickly so I can move on and forget about it. I’m guessing it has something to do with my Catholic school upbringing (and the fear of my abuela somehow reading it). Funny, you’d think that would also make me blush when I have to script a sex act between two non-married adults. But, instead, I’m perfectly fine with it. Guess that’s my ALL-GIRL Catholic high school upbringing. Ha!

… Finally, I want to wish a Feliz Cumpleanos to Decadent Publishing! The company turns 2 years old this month and is celebrating by giving readers some presents. DP is currently hosting a giveaway of 2 ebooks of your choice to 25 lucky readers. Click on the link below to find out how you can enter!

Well friends, that’s all for today. Have a great week!

  1. Thanks for the shout-out, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the "Bed of the Dead." If using swear words with God or Jesus bother you then don't! There are plenty of others out there. But if they feel inherently like you're characters, I understand the problem.
