Special Edition: Summer Reading List

It’s officially summer and that means it’s time for everyone to release their official Summer Reading Lists. I’m including links below to see what other book savvy people are recommending, but I’m going to include my official list too.

Now, to me, summer reads usually means “light” reads. No gritty memoirs or intellectual musings on politics or economics. This also means no thick novels heavy enough to prop open a door or tomes that will take you more than a week or so to scroll through on your e-reader. Summer reads – to me – are fun, easy reads to take with you on a plane, road trip or to the beach.

So with those disclaimers, I submit the following in no particular order. These are all books that I have read, some are new, some are old favorites and I’m including the genre so you can pick at will. I’m also including one sentence that explains why you should read it.

Jeneration X by Jen Lancaster (Memoir, Chick Lit Fiction)
This lady cracks me up – that is all.

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenni Lawson aka The Bloggess (Memoir)
Chapter titles include: “A Series of Angry Post-It Notes to My Husband”; “My Vagina Is Fine. Thanks for Asking”; “And Then I Snuck a Dead Cuban Alligator on an Airplane.”

The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst (Contemporary Romance)
Marriages of convenience are always good page turners especially when the hero and heroine have a past history.

Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee (Contemporary Romance)
Another marriage of convenience, but this time the hero is a Duke and the heroine is the matchmaker he hires to find himself a wife.

The What If Guy by Brooke Moss (Contemporary Romance)
What would you do if “the one that got away” showed up at the lowest point in your life?

Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner (Chick Lit Fiction, Contemporary Romance)
Love everything Jennifer Weiner writes, but this is my all-time favorite.

Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin (Chick Lit Fiction, Contemporary Romance)
Even if you’ve seen the movie, you need to read this.

Take Me by Bella Andre (Erotica)
Plus size Lily finally finds the confidence to seduce her best friend’s sexy brother Travis into a one-night stand, but she isn’t prepared when Travis starts to pursue her.

To Feel Again by Valerie Mann (Erotica)
Part of the 1Night Stand series by Decadent Publishing, this story about a soldier’s widow trying to move on is as heart-warming as it is sexy.

The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf: A New Orleans Threesome by Louisa Bacio (Erotica)
Lily needs to figure out who and what she is and turns to lovers Trevor and Lawrence for help –  both in and out of the bedroom (plus this is the first in a series and the final book is coming out soon!)
