100 Words

Note: Last week's 100-word Flash Fiction contest inspired today's story. Also, special thanks to Val for the creative word suggestions!

Hey you.

Just thought I’d let you know that I’m done with you, with us. Maybe you thought I’d never leave, that I was some pathetic milquetoast. Especially since you were so adroit at controlling me. But not anymore. I’m done with your draconian “love.” I’m done listening to you tell me that I should be grateful -- I couldn’t do better. Now it’s time for me to do the talking. I swore I wouldn’t waste more than 100 words telling you exactly what I think of you after everything you’ve done.

Then I realized you’re only worth one.
